Barry Kinsella, born in Dublin, Ireland, worked for various photographic businesses before he branched out and opened his own studio. Assignments were varied but fashion was his passion. With the challenging economy in Ireland he made the move to Florida where he is now based. During the 90’s he completed a project documenting the healthcare system in the former Soviet Union and the Newly Independent States. His personal work reflects his enthusiasm for history, allowing him to photograph the sites of some of the world’s most tragic events. He has tried to imbue all his work with a touch of fantasy and a sense of style unique to him. Having won the Ilford U.K. prize for black and white photography, he still misses the aroma of developer stop bath and fixer; the requisite darkroom chemicals, and the long nights creating beautiful silver gelatin prints while imbibing a great Cognac. Time stops for no man so it’s into the digital world we go - many new ways to capture life’s great moments.
